Saturday · Day 1

Honolulu, Oʻahu

embark · sail 7:00 PM

Embarkation eats the middle of the day and you are gone by seven, so treat Oʻahu as a pre- or post-cruise island. Pearl Harbor wants half a day; the North Shore wants a whole one.

Book earlyUSS Arizona Memorial tickets run on a timed-entry system and sell out. Reserve well before you fly rather than hoping on the day.
Sunday & Monday · Days 2–3

Kahului, Maui

8:00 AM → overnight → 6:00 PM

The overnight makes Maui the strongest stop of the week. A full Sunday for the Road to Hana, and you can still be at the Haleakalā summit for Monday sunrise and back aboard by six.

ReserveHaleakalā sunrise entry needs a reservation released 60 days ahead, with a second batch two days before. A park pass alone will not get you through the gate before 7:00 AM.
Tuesday · Day 4

Hilo, Hawaiʻi

8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Ten hours is comfortably enough for Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, about forty-five minutes up the hill, with Rainbow and ʻAkaka Falls on the way back down.

Check that dayKīlauea has been erupting in episodes, not continuously — fountaining can run for hours and then stop. Check the National Park Service eruption page the morning you are in port rather than trusting any video’s footage.
Wednesday · Day 5

Kona, Hawaiʻi

7:00 AM – 5:30 PM · tender

A tender port, so you go ashore by boat and lose a little time at both ends. The day is water and coffee: Kealakekua Bay, the Place of Refuge, and the coffee belt just uphill.

Will not fitThe famous manta ray night snorkel launches at dusk, around 6:30 PM — and the ship leaves at 5:30. It is not doable on the port day. Save it for a land stay; the manta videos below are trip inspiration, not a Wednesday plan.
Thursday & Friday · Days 6–7

Nāwiliwili, Kauaʻi

8:00 AM → overnight → 2:00 PM

The second overnight. Thursday is the full day — Waimea Canyon, or a Nāpali boat trip out of Port Allen. Friday’s two o’clock departure leaves a morning only, so keep that one close to the pier.

After the two o’clock departure the ship runs the eleven miles of Nāpali cliffs in late-afternoon light. Nothing to book, nowhere to go — the whole thing is about where you are standing. All three of these were filmed from Pride of America on this exact leg.
